Compost Agreement

In order to use the compost bin located in Parking Lot D, residents must submit this registration form. Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation email with the combination to the lock, which has been placed on the bin as a precaution against misuse. Do not share the combination, and always re-lock the bin after you use it. 

Please be extra careful about keeping plastic and other trash out of this organics bin. In the past, the compost bin was contaminated with trash, and CSCC was fined and forced to remove it.

Your commitment to composting correctly is crucial to CSCC keeping this compost bin. Please read over the rules below and adapt your composting habits accordingly:

Yes! Compostable:

  • All FOOD scraps and waste
  • Egg shells, meat and bones
  • Tea bags and coffee grounds/filters
  • Napkins and paper towels
  • Certified compostable and biodegradable products
  • Uncoated, non-recyclable paper products
  • Pizza boxes (only if uncoated)
  • Plants and flowers

NO! Do NOT put in compost bin:

  • Plastics of any kind
  • Fruit stickers, rubber bands, or twisty-ties
  • Wax coated cardboard/paper products
  • Fast food wrappers and styrofoam
  • Metals and aluminum foil
  • Milk cartons and other beverage cartons
  • Dental floss, sponges, or clothing
  • Diapers or items contaminated with bodily fluids
  • Anything with bodily fluids
  • Large branches or soil

ALL household compostable waste MUST be in either a Green Bag or a brown paper grocery bag when you put it in the bin. No plastic bags!!
