The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, is a traditional festival celebrated by many East and Southeast Asian people with a history dating back over 3,000 years, when the Emperor of China worshipped the moon for bountiful harvests. Many families gather together on this special day to bond and eat mooncakes, which symbolize both the full moon and the reunion of families. Sharing these delicacies with your loved ones shows that you wish them long and happy lives.
In honor of the Mid-Autumn Festival, we will have a mooncake tasting for CSCC residents next Thursday on the picnic tables next to the basketball court. Come out to try a tasty treat and socialize with your neighbors!
