2 & 3-Bedroom Apartment Opportunities
We have apartment opening opportunities throughout the year at CSCC. If you and your family are interested in moving into CSCC, and can be flexible about your move-in date, contact the CSCC office at 612-378-2434. Our rental rates are the lowest in the Big 10 Conference and the U of M neighborhood and include all utilities except telephone and internet.

I and My wife are currently undergraduates of the college we are at and want to transfer to the U of Mn TC for the fall semester. The wife is looking to do her graduates studies there also. Will this be an issue?
Hi Ronald,
That should not be an issue. I do encourage you to apply as soon as possible if you’d like to be in by fall semester.
Hi,
Are there any 2 bedroom apartments available? We are looking to move-in ASAP.
Thanks,
Currently, we are completely full, but residents give Vacate Notices throughout the year.

I am going to start my PhD in the Fall 2012, and I am looking for a 3-bedroom flat apartment around the 20th of August, I am married and I have two kids. Do you have any 3-bedroom flat apartment available? If you have, what would be the next steps ?
Thanks!!
hello,
I just submitted an application for a 2-bedroom apartment. I am female graduate student in my final years of the program and need a quiet place to study beginning this fall. I don’t know if I will get an apartment yet but if you are a female graduate student looking for a place to stay, you can contact me for the possibility of sharing the apartment and the cost. contact: huyn0098 {at} umn(.)edu
Hello,
I am an incoming graduate student at UMN from India. We are a group of 3 people (all incoming graduate at UMN) and wish to share one 2 bed room flat. I have the following queries:
- Are we allowed to live in these flats?
- If so, can 3 people share a 2 bedroom flat paying only the rent as mentioned on your site?
Apartments with single graduate students or post docs are limited to one adult per bedroom. 3-bedroom townhouses are reserved for families.
Dear Sir or Madam
Is there still a 2 bedroom apt available? I want to move in at 23, August. Thank you
regards peng
Currently, we do not have any openings during the month of August.
Hello, I am Soo.
I am looking for a roommate to share a 2-3bed apartment in CSCC. I have submitted my application and the fee last week. I will be in TC for about a year from 09/2012. My arrival date at MSP is Spetember 10th. It would be fine to have you there earlier than me. I am female and a graduate student in Education. Let me know if you want to discuss the possibility by contacting me at leex3791 {at} umn(.)edu. Thanks~
I am an incoming scholar at UMN from China. I hope that I can find someone to share an apartment with me at CSCC. I do not mind sublease. I will stay at UMN during 9/2012-8/2013. My email address is yangsddp {at} 126(.)com.
We do not manage “roommates”, but if you would like, we could post an ad for you in our newsletter. We often have single graduates or post docs who want a roommate.
Hi, I am graduate student of UofM. Can I apply to join with Yang?. If possible, how is the step/procedure?
You would need to apply yourself, and then note on the application what apartment you would be moving into. Yang would need to inform the office that a roommate would be added to the lease.

Hi! I am visiting scholar in UMN from China. I will have been staying St. Paul From Sep. 2012 to Mar. 2013. I want to share an apartment with you at CSCC. How about the rent? My email address: shenman {at} vip.sina(.)com
We do not arrange any roommate situations. You would need to find your own roommate at CSCC. One idea would be to post in our newsletter, The Spirit, to see if anyone is looking or a roommate.
Hello. I’ve recently been accepted to the U of M, ST. Paul Compus. I want to apply for renting recently. So do you have some opening now? How about the price? Wish for your reply soon, thanks!
The price of our apartments can be found in the “Prospective Resident” tab. As soon as an apartment opens up, we offer it to those in the ‘application pool’. Families do have priority over single graduates.

I am an incoming graduate student. I am in the works of moving out with my brother who is not a umn student. Would he be able to live with me here?
Hi!
Quick question: are the rent values listed per person or per property? ($700 per roommate, or $700 for the apartment to be split by the roommates) My roommate and I, both incoming graduate students, are looking for a two-bedroom apartment/townhouse lease that starts around mid-August but understand that it will be a busy time for CSCC.
Thank you for your time!
Meagan
The rent is per apartment.
August is a busy time but if you are flexible, the opportunity to move into CSCC is possible.
Hi, I’m an undergraduate student of UMN. Could I apply to a two-bedroom APT with my graduate friend?
We do not allow single undergraduate students at CSCC.
im planning to stay in the same unit with my friend, and according the previous comments, apparently my friend and i have to submit two different application.however,if thats the case,is it possible that only either one of us get the room?or is it possible that both of us get a room but we are not arranged to stay in the same unit?
and if both of us are applying, how should we make the payment?do both of us need to pay the deposit of the rent for the entire unit?or how?also do both of us need to pay the application fees?
It is between you and your roommate as to how/who will be paying the deposit of the apartment.
CSCC rents apartments and not rooms. If you and a friend would like to rent the apartment together, you are both on the lease, and both responsible for the rent of the apartment.
Hi, I am looking to move here with my boyfriend of 6 yrs. I am attending the university of Minnesota as a graduate student, but he is not. Are we eligible?
Hi there, I am a visiting scholar from China at UMN. Am I eligible for living here? Thanks.
Yes, you are eligible to live at CSCC.
I have submitted my application for a two bedroom apartment and paid application fee online. I noticed that there is no blank for me to fill in the name of my roommate ( who is also a graduate student at U of M and will come this Fall). So basically my question is does he need to submit an application also? Or just my application is enough?
Thanks.
Your roommate needs to apply also.
Hello All,
I will be joining U of M on next month. I would like rent an apartments starting from June 1st. Do you have any two-bed room apartments available?
Thanks,
Srinivas
The availability of our apartments rarely falls on the 1st of a month, as residents can leave anytime during a month with a 60-day notice. Once you have applied to CSCC, you will be put in a waiting pool of potential residents.
Hi, I will be a graduate student in the Chemistry department this fall. If I were to apply now without a roommate, could that be adjusted later on in the event that i found a roommate?
Absolutely. Your future roommate must also be a graduate student at the University of Minnesota.
Hi. I will be attending the University of Minnesota as a graduate mechanical engineering student this fall. If I were to move into a 2-bedroom flat apartment and wanted to have a roommate, do they have to be a University of Minnesota student? For instance, could my roommate be a graduate student at St. Mary’s or a working professional with a bachelors degree? Some clarification on roommates would be appreciated. Thanks.
Your roommate would need to be a U of M graduate student, professional student, or post doc.
Hello. I’ve recently been accepted to the U of M medical school. I will be starting in august and I’m wondering if I’m eligible to apply for housing right now, and when would be the earliest month I would be allowed to move in? My husband and I are currently looking for housing close to campus.
You could move into CSCC as soon as you would like - but would need to show the proof of acceptance for the Fall semester.
Hello I am Veronica, and I have a daughter and a fiance. I am filling out the application to be in the application. I was wondering what my Family Eligibility was considered? I am not married yet, but me and my fiance do live together with our daughter. Another question I have is about whether I can personal bring in the money by cash after filling out the online application form? Please contact soon, thank you for your time!
Hi Veronica. You would qualify as a family, which would give you preference. Yes, you may bring in cash to pay for the application but the processing of your application does not occur until we receive the application fee.
this is Jihyun Park who is studying Pharmacy in Duluth now,
I am looking for one bed room from mid May, since I am transferring to TC campus.
Please contact me asap.

Hi Jihyun. We do not have any 1-bedroom apartments at CSCC. You are eligible to apply for a 2-bedroom flat style apartment, and can do so online through the “prospective resident” tab.
If you want a sublease for June and July, you could put an ad in our newsletter. If residents want a sublease, they find the sublessee and the CSCC office has the responsibility to approve it or not.
We do not have one-bedroom apartments. The rent schedule is located under the “Prospective Resident” tab.
